@gidgetgh  Do you volunteer ? We do every year. WE have a great time going to the nearby horse farms to collect donations, pet horses and dogs etc. along the way. I even got to go for a horseback ride once. I bring apples to feed the horses if the owners allow.

@151949- no, I don't work as a volunteer during the letter carrier food drive. Just a cheerful donator.

Someone posts this every year at this time, and thanks for the reminder as we no longer seem to get a card from the postal service reminding us like we did in the past.

And where did the past year go?!! I swear this event happened just a couple of months ago! Time flies!

Our church's food bank receives the local collection of food from the Post Office. It makes me proud to see how much food is collected during the food drive. It takes almost an entire day for the volunteers to organize what has been collected.

And the Youth group collects and then sells aluminum cans  to a recycling company to get money to buy food items that are needed but are is short supply.
