DH and I own a rental property that my DD ans SIL live in. A few weeks ago they started hearing animal noises in the attic. We called a exterminator and he looked but didn't see anything. He thought it was a mouse and laid some traps. SIL checked the traps but nothing there. This past week SIL was out on the deck and he actually saw a squirrel running up the side of the house and disappear from view just below the roof gutter. When he walked over for a better look he discovered a hole about the size of a large orange in the frieze board right at the corner of the house just under the roof gutter. Sice then he has seen the squirrel go in and out a couple of more times. Today a roof repair person came and nailed a piece of wire mesh over the hole. This was a temporary repair as he had to measure the board and will return next week to replace it. well as luck would have it the squirrel was in the attic and now of course cannot get out. They can hear him running around and making noises up there. SIL doesn't want to open the pull down stairs because he doesn't want the squirrel coming at him and getting into the house. I feel badly because he will die up there and maybe smell. Anyone got any ideas?
