Its good to see the new baby, but it breaks my heart that one day the only place they will live is in zoos.

Only 40,000 Asian elephants left in the wild. That is devastating.

I recently saw an article about some endangered dolphins and porpoises . Their numbers are so low, they are on the brink of extinction in just a few years.  Entanglement in fishing nets are the main cause of their demise. Heartbreaking.

This little adorable bundle of joy is right up the road from me!  We love it when there's brand new additions to our Columbus Zoo. It is considered one of the best in the country, so proud to say that. Jack Hanna has led the march here for some 25 years or so and has thrown his everything into it all these years. It'll be a sad day when he retires which is coming up really soon.

But found this GIF while checking:  Mama giving a little nudge, calf goes...then stops, LOL.
