Thank ladies for your very informative replies.  I do get excellent service with verizon, but I must look into why I pay such a high price for just one phone. I have unlimited talk and text and 8 gig for data, plus insurance on the phone.

Maybe they can work work with me and give me a better deal since I've been with verizon forever.

My Verizon bill is high. I have only one phone, unlimited everything for 127.00 a month. I think this is high, but the coverage is very good.

I'm considering changing to sprint when my contract is up. It looks like they are cheaper for unlimited everything.

Any helpful my opinions on this?  What is your experience with sprint?  Thanks for any helpful suggestions that can help me decide.

I've had Verizon since my very first cell phone years & years ago, and I'm very happy with them.  I pay a lot less than you do, partly I think because I've been given loyalty discounts.  But even taking that into account, your monthly amount does sound high.

A year or so ago, I used a friend's phone for a few days.  She had Sprint, and the coverage wasn't as good.  I went out about my daily business, using her phone instead of mine, and ran into problems in locations that never gave me any issues at all with my own phone/Verizon.

I can't imagine switching from Verizon.  The coverage and CS have always been excellent.  The cost would have to be pretty significant for me to even consider it.  JMO!

I just wrote a reply before seeing this. Try asking for a loyalty discount.  I've received several over the years, and a friend of mine was able to get one a few years ago too when she called and asked.  I hope it works out for you!

Please Call CS at Verizon and ask about you account. Most folks do not use/need 8GB of data on just a phone each month.

we had sprint and found them very exspensive.they change stuff without telling us. once my wife had unlimited text and i didnt. so i called and added unlimeted text to my phone. text month bill came super high because they charged for all her texts. i called and they insisted i only just added it, i saying we  she allways had it. i just added it ti my line. i had to pay for it. another time i took my phone to be fixed and they said it was like 100 bucks. i said i pay for contract for it to be free repairs. hey said it shows on your account it was removed by you.i said no it wasnt.again got stuck paying for it. and bill some months would come in super high for no reason. we swithed to metro pcs and there awesome. everything we had with sprint but way cheaper.70 bucks a month and never goes any higher. and there signal is allways very good.

Only comment I can say is I walked away, no I ran away, from Verizon due to their horribly high costs and how much they kept adding to my bill. That was the cell phone business - I have Metro PCS now. Now Verizon is gone from my landline, TV and Internet. Frontier took over that and not real happy with them but better than Verizon. And I use to swear by Verizon - sad.

Here in Florida Verizon was bought out by Frontier. We loved when we had Verizon - so far all bad experience with Frontier. Every month we get a different bill, and DH has to call them and argue with them. For a landline phone with the most basic service (we only use it for the gate to the community and the security system) plus our internet access we are supposed to be paying $79/month. But it is a monthly battle. This month the bill came it was $124. Then DH either has to go to the office and sit arounfd there waiting or call them and be on hold forever. Very frustrating. If we didn't have a contract we would drop them- we will drop them when the contract is up.

You also don't need their insurance fee. Buy it from Square Trade, pay a one-time fee, and that's it. Your 8GB of data is $70 by itself. If you don't use a lot of data, i.e. Aren't internet browsing every day, or using two devices or sharing, you probably don't need 8GB. 4 GB is only 50/mo/

I've had AT&T since 2001 ... couldn't be happier with them.

I wouldn't ever even consider using Sprint or Verizon - based solely on what I've heard about the experience of friends and relatives who have used those services.
