This year i am gung-ho on tackling our bedroom, which also houses my desk/office. This will include some major re-arranging of the furniture. I have set goals and am making progress. I hope to have it completed and fresh as a daisy in a week from now!
Last year i started in the living room and dining room. I guess i go room by room. I hate cleaning blinds and i am dreading that as i always do.
I leave Mr.'s man-cave up to him, but it is in need of some serious intervention! I'm sure i will be butting in at some point! In a helpful way, of course! lol

I want to hire a cleaning service for a couple of days! I hate heavy cleaning.

I try to do heavy duty cleaning when we have cold weather. I do one room at a time in 15 minute segments. Since our home is open concept I can do the living room, dining room & kitchen while listening to the radio or even watching TV. I dislike clutter, so I declutter often. Nothing seems to say KEEP ME. Good luck.

@tdog I have been very tempted to do just that for the past few years. Every year it is more and more difficult to get the job done and takes me longer and longer. I decided i will try to hold off one more year! Either way, i wish us both the best of luck this year!

If I had that much to do, hubby would help me. Especially with rearranging furniture. And I wouldn't even have to ask. It's our home, not just mine. So, we both maintain it. I don't have a lot to do. I do have a cleaning lady for weekly cleaning and I have a cleaning service and the carpet cleaners in every 6 months.

I have already started. One project per day. If I finish it quickly, I'll start on the next day's project. Some take a few days but that's just the way it is. In the end, it's far less overwhelming and I can make a mental note on what areas need more focus daily.

Of course you do.

Fortunately i am an organized and clutter-free person also. When i downsized and moved to another state twenty yrs ago, i parted w/ all my collections and non-essentials. I never looked back and it is liberating i tell ya'!
I will say that my desk does get ahead of me at times, even with the shredder always at my side. But at least it's confined to the desk.
Mr., on the other hand, is the text-book example of lack of organization. He is like a nutty professor and can never find things when he needs to. 'Drives me loco! Believe me, for the past twenty yrs i have tried to instill in him the value of "everything in its place" but i don't think it will ever "take" with him! lol
He does deal with a number of significant health issues and is far more frail than i am. His days of helping me move furniture are over. I am determined to do as much as i can for as long as i can.
I am enjoying everyone's replies!

I've already begun and I like to do it one room at a time. I like to do all the rearranging myself. LOL I have to get the carpet guy to come in one morning and clean all the area rugs and then get someone to clean the windows. Last week I had someone clean all the upholstery.
I think I'm going to treat myself with a set of Curtis Stone's pots, so ALL the old ones are hitting the trash. Any old spices, etc. have already gone but the kitchen is still a work in progress as far as getting rid of the "old". I don't care for plasticware, so anything that my family has bought that is mis shapened, no lids, discolored or worn..goes.
I HATE clutter and many things have already been tossed.

I have several deep cleaning projects in the works that I want done by April, before I have knee replacement. I am knocking out my smaller projects at the rate of 2-3 a day, so I am making progress.
