Re: Sponsors dropping The View

[ Edited ]

Hi everyone, I had to clean this thread up a little.  It was starting to take a turn to the political side.  I'm not sure how the conversation went from talking about the View to DT and SP but let's keep it on topic.  Thank you!!

I'm not sure when these sponsors dropped their advertising from the View.  As far as any dropping today, I believe it is too early to tell.

On a side note to the Liberals who love the View...Is it difficult to understand that calling a woman "demented looking" and that her face should be on a Halloween mask is very wrong and unkind?  If someone said that about Joy Behar or Whoopi, it would be a different story.  I don't care what party you support; tearing down another human being to get ratings is just plain mean and shows your ignorance.

This was said by commedians and it was all in fun!!  There were major complaints  about her not relating to the public (she even said this in a fun statement)because she never smiles and  even though her image advisors who she says she doesn't have(all candidates have them) had her smile more  she did look ridiculous and demented.  Political halloween masks often portray these things.  She was told to do something that was out of character for her and it  obviously wasn't working for her.  It wasn't tearing her down but rather mocking the fakeness of  politicians who try to be more appealing to the public.

Wow 60sGirl has a comprehension problem and 'sees' what she wants to see.

Really? Because you are the one who posted something with a hidden meaning such as "your slip is showing" but of course the mods deleted that post.  I wonder why that is?

Re: Sponsors dropping The View

The View is definitely a sinking ship. I watched it for years but lately it's too tough a slog to get through. You can't discuss politics if you're ill informed. There are a few too many totally ignorant women on that panel. I didn't watch the Fiorina appearance but I can't imagine that it was on a high intellectual plane.

Speaking of low intellectual planes, The Talk makes no apologies for the loud and ignorant atmosphere they present. I try to watch sometimes when I'm home but usually have to turn it off. In addition to the ignorance, the show has become an advertisement for CBS programming. To me that's just obnoxious. I know Julie Chen is married to the CBS chief but I don't watch TV to see commercials between commercials. I often joke that I had to go to work all those years in order to avoid daytime television.

Hypocritical, isn't it. And those who support this say 'it was all in fun'. Nothing funny from that group of so called comediennes.

Again, the excuse I hear from student bullies who are trying to deflect from their own misbehavior is ' I was just joking'. And again, not funny!

Pook, they may be comediennes, but they are NOT funny when they make fun of someone's smile or looks.  Not a one of those women would want the same said of them or their loved ones.  People have feelings, even Carly F.    I reviewed the segment several times that shows them delighting in making fun of her.  The reason is because she stands up for her beliefs and her beliefs do not line up with the View's liberal panel.

Hooray for CF for using the air time in such a confident, articulate manner. What a woman!

I have never though that any of the women on The View were good comedians!!   I like Whoopie as an actress in movies, but have never liked her ad lib, "funny" comments.  I hate Joy's attempt at being funny.  Her "funnies" are never funny, mostly are mean and critical comments about others. The only person I have liked on the show was Barbara W.    I stopped watching a long time ago, but did watch the Friday show.  I loved seeing those stupid women get theirs in the face by CF!!  Loved CF's comeback about lemons!!

PS - before anyone comments, I am neither a Dem nor a Repub....very Independent!!
