He was in all likelihood to have surpassed the all-time total tonight and do so in far, far few days than the standing winner Ken Jenning.

I'm so disappointed that he didn't beat Ken Jennings' winnings.  I'll be interested to watch the show tonight.

Could it be that he did not want to contuine and threw the game, because he looked unbeatable

I agree. I think maybe 2.5 mil was enough and was getting tired of it.

@Junebug54, it could have been congratulatory as well. If It were I and didn't want to know either way, I wouldn't have opened.

That is why I am thinking.  It just seems strange that he would do it when he was so close to breaking Ken Jennings record, which would have probably happened tonight.
