@Snoopp Our house has a lot of glass..it was getting to the point we looked like one of those haunted houses, windows covered with spider webs. (somewhat exaggerating). When the pest guy came out we told him out specific concern was spiders. He sprayed the perimeter, the elevated deck and around all windows he could reach.
I try to my best to treat and respect all earth's creatures, but at some point I have to make uncomfortable decisions.

THEN this morning I went into the garage and another BIG spider ran out of the garage into the laundry room.
I don't get it. I have never seen these big spiders in the house before and 2 within one week? I guess I should always have a can of RAID nearby.
Have you been getting a lot of rain? I have and wonder if that is why the bugs and spiders are more noticeable.
YES! YES! YES!
In fact today when my husband was walking our dog a British neighbor commented to my husband, that he feels like he is living in England again. My husband ended up mowing the grass yesterday because it had to get done. The grass was wet and he had to stop every row or so to clean out the clumps of wet grass. The extended forecast says the first day to expect sun is Oct 18.

My pest guy said it is tough to kill spiders without a direct hit.He says that their long legs keep them off the ground so spraying will help but it won’t rid you of the problem.

I would just relocate the spider outdoors. No need to kill it.

Aww as much as i have Spider Phobia the Orb Weavers are harmless. The stay in their webs and when morning comes they hide in the gutters. I had one once outside my kitchen window and every evening watched him skillfully build his web. It was like a ballet. The orb weavers no longer come here. Something may have killed them off.
That being said i hate spiders they freak me out if thay are loose and now we have these big ugly Lobster spiders inside the house, only on the east side of the house and they get in my bedroom or the kitchen or the porch. They are indoor spiders. I mixed up some dish soap, a bit of white vinegar and peppermint oil. I spray it on the Webster and can usually catch them in there. then they get the boot lol. I plugged up small holes too with cotton balls soaked in peppermint oil.

@fthunt wrote:I've noticed they are big and fat this time of year and make huge webs. They're fast when feel in danger....keep a can of hairspray nearby - be very calm - aim can as up close to them as possible - and then FIRE. Sticky hairspray will dry and freeze their 'parts' from moving. Shhh - take good aim!
@fthunt . I use this too...another good thing to use is spray adhesive. I work on crafts in my basement and I have used the spray adhesive....slows them down.
We used to get a lot of them down in the basement. DH put stuff (not sure what) around the foundation so we don't get as many nasty spiders now...knock on wood!

@Karie2022 . This reminds me of the time about 10 years ago when I was telling some of my coworkers about the wolf spiders in our basement and on our driveway falling from some of the trees over the drive.
I went out to my car and wouldn't you know, one was on the ceiling! I freaked, went back inside to tell my coworkers about the spider. Two of them came outdoors to check...lol! They guy was too afraid to get it for me but the woman got a cup and a piece of cardboard to slide under the spider so it went into the cup...THANK GOODNESS It didn't drop into the car or we would have never have found it!
I always make sure the sun roof of the car is now closed when parked in the driveway!

@drizzellla . They sound like wolf spiders! I had NEVER seen them before then suddenly they showed up. ....they kept coming in the basement...at least once or more a week ...yuck!
We sprayed around the foundation of the house which helped a LOT!

From every human, there is a spider living just six feet away. That's what one of my biology teachers told me one time.
