When the Orcas come to Puget Sound each year, it is a joyous sight for all of us. They are spectacular !!

Whoa! That is neat!!

That's like us on the east coast spotting our first Red-winged blackbird or hummer!

@pattypeep, is that where you are from? (I've always wanted to visit the northwest!

@Harpa Yes, I've lived here since 1957. My dad was a Navy man and was stationed here for a time during his tenure. He loved it so much, that he reenlisted for an additional two years so that he could relocate his family here. We were in San Diego at the time. IMO, it's the best all around place to live. Heart

I had a friend who grew up in Seattle but married a soldier after WW11 and moved to Erie,Pa. She always wanted to go back , but that never worked out for her and she spent the remainder of her days in Erie. She often spoke of how much she loved Seattle.

@151949  There's a lot to be said for the East Coast. My daughter lives back East.  We have visited and even thought about retiring there to be near her, but it's too hot for my dh. After thinking about it long and hard, we decided that we really do love it where we are. Interesting, all three of our kids were raised here, but they have all moved out of state. Smiley Sad

@pattypeep It is beautiful here in SW Fl too but since career opportunities are sparse the young people all move away.

@151949  I've never been to Florida. I really dislike flying and if it wasn't for that, I would probably have visited the state. It always looks so beautiful in pictures. It sounds like it's the perfect place for retirees since we don't have to find employment. Sweet. Nothing wrong with being surrounded by folks our own age.
