Speaking Of Public Relations

They really do their jobs well and tend to keep their clients bad news out of the lime light so to speak.

My question is who or what disappointed you when you found out the ugly truth about them? Whether they were drunks, drunk addicts, law breakers or plain old rotten to the core star.

My first let down as a kid was Judy Garland.

The first letdown I can remember was President Nixon's involvement in the Watergate scandal. I had always held the man elected to that office to the highest moral and legal standards.

Re: Speaking Of Public Relations

I picked Judy Garland because I had pictured her forever as the character of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. I was let down when my Mom pointed her out on a tv show before she died. What a difference.

I think mine was Rock Hudson. I had a crush on him, loved all of his movies and thought I would grow up and marry him.

Exactly. Whoever does is sure to be disappointed.

Re: Speaking Of Public Relations

Another let down was Nolan Ryan, when he pitched for the NY Mets, he was my hero. So when he left and later said how he and his wife didn't like the NY area I was crushed.

His PR firm should have squelched that.

Elvis Presley and Princess Di come to mind. I was horrified to read about some their antics.......
