Grammy award- winning Cynthia Weil passed away at age 82. I admit I did not recognize her name right away and then realized how many big hit songs she was responsible for over many decades! Carole King inducted her and her husband into the Rock &Roll Hall of Fame in 2010. She wrote many songs we all know, including:
"You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling"( the most played song in the 20th century)
"On Broadway"
"Here You Come Again"
"Don't Know Much"
"If Ever You're In My Arms Again"
...and many more....she was married to Barry Mann who collaborated with her on many of the songs. Am so glad she leaves behind such a rich musical legacy. Condolences to her family, friends, and fans.

A big hit for Eydie Gorme in 1963. It reached Number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100. I love it!

Hmmm, I always thought Dolly Parton wrote Here You Come Again, but she just made it a hit for Weil/Mann.

@Trailrun23 I would imagine the royalties from just "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" alone were staggering, not to mention the rest of their catalog.
What talent...

I think she collaborated with Phil Spector and others on many songs, and with Dolly on some of her songs as well. She also wrote a lot of Broadway tunes, including a show she and Mann wrote but didn't last very long. I am surprised I didn't recognize her name right away....she was truly working her talent behind the scenes and made a lot of singers famous.
