Please meet Gavel the Vice Regal Dog of Queensland Australia:

In puppy training class it was determined that Gavel was just too sweet and social to be a police academy dog so now he is the official greeter of all things big and small at the official residence of the Queensland governor.

I think he looks very smart in his various coats . . . .

Oh thanks @missy1 as I am a big supporter of Service Dog Project I know that sometimes completely healthy and gorgeous dogs just are not suited for the task at hand so this story really touched my heart.  I am so glad he now shines in a position he is best suited for! . . .

I apologize @Kachina624, I did check Pet Lovers first but didn't see it.  Again my apologies but to be honest I thought with all of the bad and sad news flying around these days I thought this happy news would be nice to share with a wider audience.
