Call the police.

Even if it is legitimate, what happens if there is a problem. I wonder if they take returns or give a warranty.

Never heard of such a thing... who would by furniture from some stranger knocking on your door? I can not imagine who would.

I never open my door...ever...to strangers. I talk through my window if I must have conversation. Call me paranoid, but someone tried to force themselves in to my apartment once. Luckily I broke their fingers in my door. I don't even live in a big urban city either.
Never again will I leave myself so vulnerable! Beware.

The police should be called ,it does not hurt to let them know.

This happens a lot in New York and New Jersey and it's not stolen goods.
I've seen the trucks but never purchased anything.

I grew up in NYC/NJ and used to trucks parked with goods to sell, sometimes they put up signs.
When I lived in MA, fishermen would set up on the side of the road with fresh fish, shrimp, mussels and lobsters,

Sometimes when I drive by a vacant store lot there will be a semi-truck or two parked, selling stuff to people who stop by. Anything from food to furniture being sold.

I also live in NJ. It was common, where I live, to see them parked in vacant lots with signs that said furniture from North Carolina. Although, I haven't seen them for a while around here.
