Re: Someone Left These on My Front Wall????

I'm okay... thanks for all the concern.

I did call the police and they basically laughed at me.    So, I doubt it's a pattern, but I only talked to the person on the phone, not a cop.

I have enough fear in my life, I'm not going to live in fear of this.    I do have some obnoxious and weird neighbors.   Maybe someone just gets a thrill out of doing stuff like this to bug someone.    I'm not going to live afraid of everything.  I have enouigh stress and worry as someone kindly said.   I saved the items and if something happens again, I'll have more to show them.   The police person probably thought I was a nut.

My Husband's Mother thinks everyone around her home is watching her....they are all drug dealers or worse....a card and a chip mean nothing unless you give them purpose. You are reading too much into this.

I'm so clueless about playing cards and poker chips ( whatever that means) that I'd just pick them up and put them into my junk shoebox.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

Re: Someone Left These on My Front Wall????

Cops,Police, whatever you call them, definitely NOT TV cops.  One night we called them out after hearing a loud crash and saw our car wrapped around the tree in front.  Out they come, out of their car and out of their mouths really loud laughing!!!!  It was a VW beetle, with a target painted od the roof of car.  However, several cars had been tipped or keyed in the neighborhood.    Another time, I took a 16oz jar of MERCURY to the sheriff's station and thought I was going to get shot!!  They made me leave with the jar and would send someone out.  After 30minutes of waiting, we went back home.   So, Apple, don't feel bad.  Just flick the card and chip in the trash and forget it.  They are as meaningless as my 2 situations.   And this is coming from a cop's daughter.----tedEbear

I wouldn't have touched it.  I would have called the police to have it finger printed.  Has there beeny trouble in your neighborhood recently?  Has there been violence, vandalism, or theft?  Something similar happened to my best friend last year.  Luckily she has an alarm system, as her house was broken into, and the thieves were caught.

I doubt that the police would have it fingerprinted.  That's silly.  It's not a crime scene.

Well, my friend woke up to a number 3 taped to her front door, and 3 days later, an attempted robbery happened.  Too bad she didn't tell the police, because the same thing happened once before at another home in her neighborhood. Had the first victims reported it, the police would have known about the number being taped to the door routine, and had she subsequently reported it, there would have been surveillance at her home.  As I said, luckily she had an alarm, and they were caught. So no, it is not "silly" of me to make that suggestion.  Perhaps others have reported this activity in her neighborhood, and she might be able to prevent a crime.

It depends upon how small the town and how large the police force, and how much serious crime occurs in the area.

If one lives in a large city or town that has many homicides, rapes, or a wide variety of serious crimes that involve bodily harm, the police are very often yes, too busy to respond to anything but serious crime that has already occurred or is about to occur imminently, and they simply do not have the time to take a report, even for break-ins and car theft.

If one lives in a town where the police don't have much to do, I'm sure they address every phone call.

OMG!  What silly answers.  Throw the junk out.  It doesn't mean anything.  It wasn't left on your door step or inside of your yard.

The police have better things to do and you will me labeled as a nut if you call them again for finding junk on your wall.

i hope you find peace in your life again. I pray for many blessings to come your way.

Silly?  Didn't you just inform everyone in another thread that we're all going to eventually die?  You're so wise.

Thank you. I am very wise and intelligent too with good common sense.  I didn't inform anyone as far as I know that we are all going to die.  I just stated a fact that everyone already knows.

I hope I didn't spoil anything for you as I didn't think it was a surprise.

Yes, it would be silly to I call the police again.  They already were called and according to the OP, they just about laughed at her.

See? That's what I expected the police to do, which is why I thought it was ridiculous to go to them in the first place. I knew that they weren't going to go all C.S.I. on a playing card, and a poker chip.

I'm glad that you aren't going to give this any more thought.

Good for you.

@Apple Head  I'm glad you're okay. You should never be made to feel bad about calling in something you feel is suspicious.  The police are there to serve and protect, so you did the right thing.
