Some statistics on veterans and suicide

I watched a documentary on HBO about the VA's call center in upstate NY that handles all suicide calls for veterans. Currently 22 veterans per day commit suicide (almost 1 per hour). More veterans have killed themselves than died in battle since 2001.

I highly recommend the documentary, I think the title is something like "On Call..." It's on demand on my cable system (AT&T) thru the beginning of January. It runs approximately 40 minutes.
