You have that wrong, do not care about the kardashian clan.

Unfortunately, when someone posts 'I don't care about these people' on those particulars threads, yes...you do care, or you wouldn't post....

about people you don't know.

See how that works?

When posting about love ones that have died, it is finding compassion, helping in ones loss, but famous people we do not know , i don't understand what the reason is.

@goldensrbest  It is very simple and IMO also very obvious: it is news.  Big mystery solved!

I don't want to see the obit posts cease because it's usually the first I learn of someone's existence. For example, although I knew who Roger A. was, I had no idea who Bill Paxton was and had to look him up.  Still doesn't really register, no disrespect intended.

The truly tiresome threads are the look ma, no boudaries epics that detail someone's every body function and twinge (with exotic diseases that are often revealed to be self-diagnosed) and the ongoing vendettas between or among a few posters who seem to have it in for each other. The first are easier to avoid than the second, but I don't see either category enriching the board.

People are going to die, and people are going to want to know about it and talk about it. I still remember being completely stunned when the news of Princess Diana's car crash first flashed across my screen, back in AOL days. It was hard to believe that someone so public, whose larger life story had yet to be writ (I hoped for a happy romantic alliance for her), could die so abruptly. I found it intensely sad. Having a place like this to share those feelings would not have been a bad thing.

@sidsmom Thought about you on Monday (5/15) during my lunch hour as I watched the memorial and the 21 gun salute on our square for the Blue.   Your posting it was a blessing to knowing.  Way more important than the "k" family for sure but news I had not known or been reminded of.  Thanks again.

@beckyb1012

What a lovely thing to say. That really means a lot!

Yeah, the Peace Officers Memorial Day took on a new meaning

for the officers here in Dallas since the July 7, 2016 event.

I wasn't able to watch the salute live...wow, I bet that was moving!

@sidsmomThat did hurt bad and I am 80 miles from Dallas so I cannot imagine how awful in your own town.  It immediately made me put our Tyler PD on my twitter following and I just tweet thanks as much as I can.  You never think it can be so close to you when you read things in the news. Heart

It sounds like there are alot of judgements being made  on here, i asked a question and so many just had to assume things, people are judgemental no matter who they are ,a failing of the human race.
