Today's movies are too scary for small kids and parents are wrong to subject them to scary stuff. Same thing when dog owners take their dogs to see fireworks and wonder why the dog is scared. How stupid can people get and still live?

That's so awful, poor children. Some people should have a license to be parents. I cannot ever imagine my daddy ever speaking to me that way. Clearly the dad should have paid for a babysitter, then he could have enjoyed the movie and the kids could have enjoyed some time without him. At least they did leave and you didn't have to listen to a crying child or a nasty dad behind you for the entire movie. Hope you enjoyed it, I saw it last night and thought it was awesome!

I wanted to tell a story about when I was about, oh, 12 or 13. Dad took younger brother (10) and I to see "Zorba the Greek". ROFL! Dad thought it was going to be like a gladiator movie. There were a couple of scenes that were VERY secksie for those times.
I can still hear dad, clearing his throat every 5 seconds. Not knowing what the heck to do!!

PS: I still think what happened to those kids in the OP was child abuse

Similar happened to my dd. Only it was ""Saw"".

First- we have no idea how old the kids were. The OP said they looked 4 and 7. They could very well have been older. Secondly- we have no idea what transpired before the dad got to the movies with the kids. For all we know the kids could have begged and pleaded to go. Maybe the little girl was supposed to stay home, but cried and carried on because she wanted to be with her dad and brother.
We have no idea. The fact the dad got up and left the theater tells me he understands it was the responsible thing to do.

Oh I would be a FURIOUS mom... that movie was not okay, very screwed up and nothing a young child should see. What is wrong with people?

Yep. It disturbed her for YEARS!! She told them she didn't want to watch it but they insisted. She didn't want to look like a baby and call me. GRRRRRRRRR Peer pressure!

I'm trying to remember how old she was. She was in her early teens I think. So thank heavens she wasn't really little.
