I am definitely a QVC shopper and on a first-name basis with the UPS man, but have really started to cut back on purchases.

Funny today I cleaned the drawers of my nightstand and I found a program guide with Cathy Levine on the front. I also found a couple of receipts from QVC one for a set of 2 Denim and Company T- shirts for about $25 and $4.75 for shipping. How things have changed. The receipts were from 2002.

It's really rare to find a top from any vendor that is less than $50 when S&H and possibly tax is added in. I have made a vow not to buy anything this fall and winter. I have plenty of clothes to wear and I have never bought anything "trendy," or "fad-like," so they will still look fine. Some of the things I bought last year, I've only worn once or twice as it is.

I have not ordered anything but fragrance from the Q in quite a while. I noticed yesterday the shipping on a blanket was $10.00. No way would I spend $10.00 to have a blanked shipped to me. I also have decided to make a concerted effort not to purchase clothing from QVC this winter, I don't need anything and honestly everything looks the same, shark bite/hi low hems, open front cardigans......you can find that stuff everywhere!!

You can say that again. I can do better at local stores. I haven't been buying near as much on Q. Especially clothing. But as long as others will pay it they will keep increasing prices and shipping and handling.

I haven't really paid much attention to if the prices are rising, but I mailed a birthday gift to a friend in Utah over the weekend. It wasn't all that heavy and it was $16.30. By comparison, I think $10 to ship a blanket is a deal.

Ups&FedEx are raising prices on Dec 28th. Rates may raise up to 30%. You won't like them then either.
From the article.
Sterling estimated that the cost to ship a box of paper towels weighing three pounds and measuring 17 x 17 x 17 inches could jump to more than $20 from $8 under the new pricing rule.

Big d/a/m/n scam.

Of course S/H is rising. Just look @ your local pump to figure this out.
And for all the ""free"" s/h elsewhere? It's made up somewhere. There's no such thing as a free lunch. UPS trucks aren't filling their gas tanks up with Fairy Dust.
It's not rocket science or a 'scam'.

QVC has been offering a lot more free shipping and handling charges but I do agree that the places that offer free shipping usually make up for it in some way.
