Used to be that when you tried to add an item to your cart that was sold out it would tell you immediately "sorry this item is sold out." Now it lets you add it to your cart (believing it's available) and when you hit check out you get a picture of the item and it says "unavailable items "sold out" and it removes it from your cart.

That's only ever happened to me with HSN. Is this now happening with QVC?

@rms1954 - The same thing happened to me yesterday and today. Put it in the cart, go to checkout and got the sold out message.

@Venezia YES! It's SO annoying because you think it's available because it lets you put it in your cart.... then you hit check out and BAM! - It's SOLD OUT! Well why did it even let me put it in my cart!!!
When I lost biscuits (sounds so funny now but it wasn't then lol) I actually called CS to ask why it wasn't in my cart for the hour as it used to be. She explained they just changed it this past Tuesday after doing computer upgrades (downgrades for us). We chatted about the fact we can't even put a pair of pants in the cart, search for a top to go with it, that it can be sold out right out of the cart now. CS was so helpful and sweet.
QVC used to give you one hour to decide or add to your order, etc. Now if you don't purchase it even though it's in your cart, it is taken out of your cart and used as available inventory IF the item is needed for a sale. It only stays in your cart and goes down to SAVED ITEMS if the item is still available. It is removed once sold out, which I also don't like because I would often check back on that item to see if any became available down the line. Now we have to hunt it down again.
The big problem as I see it is we can't even watch a whole presentation of something because the host is telling us it's selling fast, get it quickly, etc. and now it seems we have to. That's pressure not knowing if we like it. Like geez, give me a minute to decide lol. At least in a B & M store we can hold onto the item while we look for things to go with it, etc. and keep it in an actual cart lol.
Can you tell I don't like the change lol.

@OneHappyHiker - I agree that it's not a positive change for the customer. It definitely shouldn't show as available, if the instant you add it to your cart you get the sold out message.
The only tip I can give you for being able to keep track of things is to add any item you like to your wishlist. That way, even if sells out, it will stll show there and you'll be able to see if it comes back into stock. I do that all the time and it also reflects if the price has changed.

@Venezia Thank you! I haven't used that wish list feature the old way but now I will! That will make it much easier to keep track of items!
No, it doesn't say SOLD OUT the instant you add it to your cart, like the old way it didn't even let you add it to your cart. It doesn't even tell you it's sold out until you click on the CHECK OUT!! So we think we have it because it's in our cart... go to check out but BAM! It's gone! Considering that's only what a second or two? That means it was already sold out but not telling us until we hit check out. Frustrating lol.
