I remember using one of these. Did you see or use one, too?

@On It I remember those machines lol. You had to carefully slide the bottle down the track and then make a few turns to get it to the release position. What a nice memory. Thanks for reminding me about those. 😊💝💕

Yes. I loved those things! And you won't believe this but we actually had one at our house. 😲 My dad had a lot of men who worked for him driving trucks and when they came in at the end of the day they would come up to the house and get a cold drink. The machine was altered so you didn't have to put in a coin. And I gotta tell ya, I yanked my fair share of Dr. Peppers outta that thing too! 😄
Such good memories.

We called ours Coke Machines even if buying a different brand. I used the term soda trying to be generic. I forgot some say pop.

Agreed, @On It. Even though waaaaay back then my drink choice was a Dr. Pepper, all the machines were called Coke Machines. They still are. Also, it was always, "Ya wanna go get a Coke?" Never used the terms soda or pop.

@PansyBoo We still say we want a Coke. I can no longer tolerate carbonated drinks. My husband orders Dr. Pepper but says we are stopping for a Coke.
If you look at the photo of the machine, the top right edge of the Coca Cola Coke logo is showing, so it was a Coke machine.

They had the bottle top removers on the front with the repository for the tops. Looking back, I wonder how they were emptied or cleaned? I know we sometimes fished down there for spare tops. Not sure what we wanted them for, but they were free.

I remember those drink coolers. The drinks were so cold and tasted 100% better served in glass bottles.
What a good memory that is.... a blast from the past.
