@We rescue cats,

Skechers make my feet, legs, and hips hurt; I cannot wear them, period.  My husbands wide width shoes are covered by the VA; several years ago, he chose a pair of Skechers and while they were a nice looking pair of shoes, he complained of pain in his feet and legs every time he wore them!  I donated the shoes within a month.

Skechers makes nice looking shoes, but no one in my family of 4 can wear them.

I recently bought the Tommy Copper over the calf compression socks from QVC. I bought the wide calf version so they wouldn't be tight at the top. (V83882)  They don't hurt at all and seem to be very good for my ankles and feet. I have arthritis and will sometimes end up with some swelling in my ankles and feet at the end of a 4 or 5 hour drive. Last week I wore them while driving across the state, and there was no swelling at all. I don't know if this translates into good circulation, but I can attest to the comfort. The only problem I have is getting them over my very wide feet and bunions. But they are not uncomfortable at all.

@RedTop Sketchers kill my feet too, and my doctor told me to get rid of them.

@RedTop I agree with you, my old skechers were better on my feet than the new ones. I think the soles are too soft. I have a few pairs but only wear them when going to the store or somewhere for a short amount of time if I need a good walking shoe they are not the ones I put on.

@Mom in NY  I'm going to try diabetic socks. When I googled, I found that they were for people with circulation problems, etc. I don't like socks that leave a mark; I don't like the tightness.

Amazon has a lot of diabetic socks from a variety of companies, & I'm going to read the reviews, including those with pics. Lots of other places have diabetic socks too when I googled.

I have low blood pressure, and won't wear compression socks. Even when I bought the lowest compression, they sometimes make me feel light-headed.

I used to buy Legacy trouser knee socks and Louis Dell Olio's trouser knee socks from the Q because they were never too tight & never left a mark. Sometimes, the Louis D O trouser knee socks would creep down & I'd have to pull them up. Legacy was always excellent. I also used to buy Nordstrom's brand of ankle socks that were okay.

Let us know what you find.

World Willdlife socks (WWF) are my favorites but not everybody might like them.

Bomba doesn;t work for me, but feet are difficult somertimes.

I got a few patterns (sloths, turtles, dolphins, meerkats) after a friend sent them two years ago.  Part of the price goes to WWF.

I recently tried Wellow Compression Socks and I really like them over other compression socks that I have tried. Including Bombas. The Wellow socks are not tight on the top, comfortable and keep my feet warm. You can easily fold the top down too.

They are expensive though.

May not be the most asthetically pleasing look but I have started cutting off the top portion of the socks where the elasting portion is and just using them like that.  I buy the longer socks and they don't show underneath slacks and inside of boots, etc.  I just can't stand elastic in socks at all - it's the binding and also this makes me break out.
