Social Security Increase Medicare Decrease

Apologies if this has already been covered, saw the post on Social Security 8.7% increase for 2023, didn't see anything mentioned about Medicare.

Looks like $5 decrease for base Medicare for 2023 so if that is true we'll net all of the cost of living increase for SS for 2023. Smiley Happy

@rockygems123   It has been mentioned, however, many people still are under the impression they'll be socked with a Medicare increase so it bears repeating.

What about changes to what Medicare will cover? We might have to pay more out of pocket for our health care.  I haven't actually looked at the handbook so I really don't know for sure.

@SilleeMee

Good point, there are going to be variables within a program.

My plan still has the same coverage.

I just got my statement and my net gain is $1a month.  So you can take that to the bank now.

@Sooner    How is that possible?  What offset the increase?

@Kachina624 The Government offsets the increase.  Simple.

@Sooner    Offset it with what?  How did you get a statement so fast?  Nobody else has mentioned getting one.

@Kachina624 I got an e-mail to go online and see what the amount was.  I saw. I was not surprised.
