@agb80 I am happy you were able to find appointments.
Good luck!

It seems that some here have started/participated in threads about the same thing.
I understand that people are thrilled they were able to do this; however, where I am, it is very difficult right now to even get an appointment anywhere. Our county is getting very little vaccine for the amount of people who are in need.
My question: do you think, knowing of the scarcity of vaccine, it is thoughtless and inconsiderate for those on social media platforms to share their success when so many are in need and desperate to get the vaccine?
I am just not understanding the motivation of those who do. Perhaps I am missing something.
What say you?
@Mersha I agree to some extent as I had great difficulty trying to schedule the vaccine and still unvaccinated but finally my husband, myself & an elderly neighbor go tomorrow. But, I do think its helpful when posters share experiences about post vaccine reactions and what they did to alleviate symptoms and how long they last. I finally gave up trying to sign up and just decided to wait until I was notified of appointments. My life wasn't going to change to any great degree and constantly being online or making phone calls was just too stressful. The rollout in my State was terrible and my area of NJ was very hard hit and ground zero for NJ & we still have a good number of cases hospitalized. Yet, to get a vaccine was near impossible.

@Gkhm sorry that's not true in my state. There have been stories documented that hospital board members who are not in contact with patients received it, smokers are given vaccine here so people lie, hospital workers were permitted to sign up family & friends & many are young. There are cheaters everywhere and I don't think my State is unique.

Well, I got a shock last night, when I clicked on something that showed availablilty to get the shot at several wal marts in my state. Thank God, things seem to be opening up!
Any of you who haven't been able to get it yet, if you have a wal mart in your area, you may want to check with them.
I honestly have more hope that we will all be able to get it at some point now.

Sure there are cheaters, there may be 100 people in my state who cheat. We have vaccinated 2 million people, why are we talking about 100? It sends the message that the system is corrupt and it's not.

For the last week, my states DHEC site has been listing the Walmart near me as having vaccine available--but it's NOT true. When I click on "contact this provider" it lists every other Walmart in 2 states (none of which are close to me) but not that one! I live near one of the most populated areas in my state and can't find a convenient location (meaning within 30 miles).

I see nothing wrong with it. But this is America. The land of the perpetually offended.
I have no idea why and when it became such tabboo for people to share their good fortune about anything, regardless of what that is.
It's not something I personally would choose to do but I see nothing wrong with others doing it.

@Gkhm , in all situations this isn't true.
It came out early on that there were vaccinations being bought by the wealthy and the privileged. I think anyone with half a brain knew that was going to happen.
Even in the case of the left over doses being given, it's who you know that allows you to get the call to come in for a left over dose. There isn't a list of people next in line with an appointment that gets you those left over doses. People get called because they know someone administering the vaccine or at the clinic, etc. and are told there are left over doses so they can come in and get theirs.

I have seen folks here stating they got the vaccine, and I like to see it! Even before I'd gotten my first one, I found it encouraging to see that the vaccine program was rolling along.

@september, one of my favorite stories thus far in the national vaccine effort is the story about the team out in Oregon that had been doing a vaccine clinic. They finished, packed up their stuff and headed back home. Only a snowstorm had closed the highway. As they talked to others out there with information the estimated time it was going to take to clear the highway was going to put them over the time limit for the vaccine. It was going to expire as they sat there on the road.
Well, they had the whole team there so they got out in the cold with it snowing and started knocking on windows of cars that were stranded as well. And yes, they vaccinated people right there before the vaccine expired. Love it!
