Re: So who besides me dresses up to answer the door on Halloween?

@Havarti ...I would've called the cops.....her "joke" was attempted robbery or assault in the least.

I'm flabbergasted.

@Havarti I would have been terrified too.  What an idiot.

Re: So who besides me dresses up to answer the door on Halloween?

I never dress up in a full costume.  I am so not an adult Halloween costume person. If the weather is decent, I would wear a Halloween t-shirt or sweatshirt.  If it's cold, I'm usually bundled up because I sit outside to hand out the candy.

Today, I'm not sure how many kids we will even get.  It has been raining since yesterday and we have a high wind warning in place starting later this afternoon.  Some areas around me changed trick or treating due to the weather forecast.  I'll be inside for sure tonight.  I'm expecting to have a lot of left over candy.

Re: So who besides me dresses up to answer the door on Halloween?

I don't like Halloween.

A few years ago if I was home alone, I stopped answering the door altogether.  We would get a lot of older, bigger kids and there was no know way of knowing who was under a full face mask.  Tall kid or crazy person.

The rule in our house now is, the person that buys the candy (not me) is on door duty.

Re: So who besides me dresses up to answer the door on Halloween?

@faeriemoon  I dress up as a witch every year but I don't go the entire scary route because I don't want to frighten the littlest ones that come to the door.  Have all my treat bags ready to go and some packaged goodies in reserve so I don't run out.

I so enjoy seeing the children dressed up and so excited.  Hoping the rain and very high winds they are predicting hold off until after 8 or 9 tonight, rather than the 5 or 6 tonight that is predicted.

I wear an orange shirt that has a pumpkin face on the front. Does that count, LOL!!! As far as the weather here, it has been raining for two days. It is 37 degrees and windy. By the time the kids get out of school the real feel will be in the 20's.

@Havarti   How awful.  Your grown adult new neighbor sounds like her elevator doesn't go to the top floor.  A nut case or a sicko for sure.  It's a shame she ruined seeing the kids for you.

Exactly the same here.  Regular non-scary witch (well, regular me; scary is subjective), goody bags all made up and waiting in my Halloween bowl.  I wonder if we live near each other because our forecast is the same.  Hope the weather holds out so the kiddies can enjoy the fun.  Also hoping we get a few kids; you never know.  The most we ever had was 30, the least 3.

I'd really like to unload this candy; I don't want it around the house!!
