I love peaches!  Nectarines more, but still....!

I'm happy with the ones I get at the grocery store, every once in a while you get a *dry* one, yuck.  

But for the most part, a peach can be from anywhere and I'm usually happy.  I'd say I won't do expensive peaches as seen as prices quoted here.  Organic peaches are expensive enough!

We get good peaches from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Colorado and other places, but am sorry for the farmers who had a bad year in so many places.

I was picking strawberries on Sunday and the farm owner told me they lost their entire crop off peaches, cherries, and a few kinds of apples this year because it dropped into very low temperatures in February this year. If it had dropped in any other month they might have been able to save them but the fruits they lost are at a critical growth stage in February that they just can't withstand low temps.

I am so sad. I live for fresh peaches every season. This is up in the Northeast.

I looked at their raspberries as I walked to the strawberry field and they are nowhere near the size they need to be for almost going into July so I think raspberries are going to struggle too.

It makes me sad for hffarmers because growing crops is such a hard job and they are at the mercy of the weather.

I usually order peaches from The Peach Truck. In the past they offered 25 pound boxes for about $50. This year they offered 10 pound boxes for almost the same price. Picking them up is always a huge hassle.
