Re: So here's how Heathrow is screening passengers

I would think for his own protection he should be wearing gloves?

I'd be willing to bet they're using the disposable covers. Although the chance for infection from Ebola would be minimal (unless the ear is exuding body fluids), it's basic procedure.

Taking one's temp is just the first phase of screening. Isn't that what's going on there?

Hi Noel....wouldn't taking a temp like that cross contaminate?

Why don't they use the thermal forehead scan thingy? And why isn't he wearing gloves.?

Yes. At first, I thought the screener was using the touchless.

Re: So here's how Heathrow is screening passengers

It's going to take more than a thermometer at the airports I'm afraid.

What scares me more than ebola itself is the way it might be handled. I just hope political correctness doesn't trump the safety of millions either. To me this is serious and it will be hard to get countries on board with different ideas and ways to handle things. This is the scary part. I think the US can do this, but it is the rest of the "traveling" world coming here that will make it difficult.

I am in the Dallas area and we have constant coverage of this thing. I will feel more hope if this nurse fully recovers and the others being monitored don't get sick. That will lift the spirits of all of us I'm sure.
