So glad I'm all done shopping!

I had to go out today to pick up a few gift cards (yes my family loves them!), so I decided to run into a few stores to check out the sales, and see if I could pick up some things for me.{#emotions_dlg.biggrin} Like with most of us, time was limited.

I went into a store, and was greeted by an SA, who asked me if I was looking for anything in particular. I smiled, said hello, and told her I just wanted to look. Then she asked me "What's your name?' I thought I misheard her, so I said "Excuse me?", and she repeated the question. I thought it was kind of a nosy question, so I just said "Ann". No, that's not my name, but really...is this something new? Being asked for your name when you're just in a store, looking around?

She then proceeded to follow me around and make comments on anything I looked at. Then she pulled off a few things from the rack that had purple in them, simply because I was wearing something that had purple in it! They weren't things I'd ever want to buy, and she was really wasting my time. I got out of there at that point, without buying a thing.

I did better at another store, where they were helpful without being annoying. I got a scarf, a top, denim leggings, and two pairs of socks.

What do you all think about being asked for your name when you're just in a store, browsing? Friendly or "none of your business"?
