Last September we started getting several calls every day from different tel. #'s from SC: no messages left.

Finally got someone from Verizon and we were able to set up a Fios  Nomorobo call app for our land line.  In essence, each night I went into the app and for each of our landlines I was able to check " block " calls from each new SC call.

What a relief.  Incidentally, there is a parallel Nomorobo call app for their cellphones.  Haven't needed it yet but I will not hesitate to install it.

There is no charge for the landline app usage or download.

Wow, I hadn't heard of this for landline use.  I'm so glad to know there's something that can be done though.  I copied your post so I wouldn't forget the name of it.  Thank you 😊❤️

Nomorobo works on VoIP landlines, but not the older copper wire landlines. Verizon Fios is VoIP.

They're driving me nuts too and they start at 7:15 am.  I can't block all of them because they just use another number.  I did answer one last week because I was in the mood to chew some butt.  And I'll give your this warning:

A foreign sounding guy said they were sending me a new social security card.  I said Oh, really.  He wanted me to verify some info which I refused to answer, just silence.  Then he said they were offering me a free DNA test.  He'll send the kit and I'll just have to spit and return it.  HA HA HA.  My DNA and social security #.  I told him what he could do to himself and hung up.  But the calls just keep coming.

BE CAREFUL.  And don't answer "yes" to any question.

they will try anything won't they ? I answered a call a few weeks ago just to anoy them and play along. They tried to get me to say yes and instead I said something not so nice and hung up !  I once got a call  last year sometime and was told my SS card was found in Texas ( I'm in Missouri) with a criminal stop and the police were coming to pick me up ! HA HA HA. I acted very concerned and was transfered to the " Manager" to hopefully stop the police from taking me to jail by giving them personal info. I told the manager I knew it was a scam, said a few not so nice words and hung up.  A-Holes !!

Don't you all remember yrs. ago on QVC they had

that CPR Call Blocker ? I've had one for 10 yrs.

It's that little black box that you run a jack (they supply)

to your plug in back of phone.

Then when you get a nuisance call just hit the

red BLOCK button and that blocks them from calling back again.  I thought everybody had one of them now.

Wouldn't take nothing for mine think Amazon probably sells them still now too.    If you block somebody then change your mind you can 'unblock' them, too.

That's why I got rid of my landline a couple years ago. The only calls were either scam or political calls.

A couple years ago I set my dads landline up so that he would only receive calls from allowed phone numbers so only family members. He was getting scam calls and I was concerned someone would scam him out of money or something. Worked like a charm. Not all providers offer this option but I was glad his did as it offered some peace of mind to me.

Trouble with cell phones is I get calls from zip codes I never heard of. I just reject the calls or block them if I can.  Never answer. Nobody has my cell phone number anyway. Don't give it out except to people I have to or family members.

I was gonna order from Jessica London the other day, but, they wanted a mobile # and they never got a sale.

I"m not deleting bunch of ads on a daily basis.

Lots of "Spam Unknown" calls today on cell and landline.  Get ready for it until after the elections.
