My friend directed me to the Walter Drake website for a baking item. While surfing there,

I couldn't get over how many QVC items I saw that were so much cheaper!!!

Mark Charles silicone pot cover to stop boil overs, microwave crisper trays, aluminum wallets, etc......

Also, George Stella's cook book, go to Stella Style dotcom and get all the recipes

free!

I'm so tired of being ripped off.

I never thought the Q had the cheapest prices-but it is easier to buy something knowing how it looks and works. The live presentations are way diferent than seeing it in a photo....

Please explain how you are being "ripped off" because one retailer has a lower price than another for a similar (i.e. NOT ATHE EXACT SAME) item. If I find something similar at ShopHQ that Walter Drake has on its sit (e.g toaster oven cookware), does that mean Walter Drake is now the "rip off"? If Kroger sells cheese for $0.10 more per pound than Publix, is Kroger the "rip off"? I am just trying to understand your definition of "rip off."

I noticed that Walter Drake has a baking sheet on sale for $6.99. I just spent 10 times that for a baking sheet from a 140-year-old cookware company from France. I know that the one I purchased is one that, with care, could be used by my grandchildren's children while the one from Walter Drake is thin, cheap junk that would be useless in months with regular use. Was I "ripped off" or the poor, unsuspecting customers of Walter Drake.

George Stella, while offering some recipes on his site, does not offer them all. Since many retailers will have the book, is QVC the "rip off"? Amazon? George Stella himself (for even producing the book)?

Again, I am just trying to figure out why you are disappointed in QVC. Were you somehow under the impression that they guaranteed the lowest prices on all items? While I understand waning to be treated fairly as a customer and getting value for your money, I think it is a little harsh to accuse QVC if somehow "ripping off" its customers because someone else has different price points.

QVC offers the 30 day return and gives live demonstrations, both cost money and that cost is added to their items and their S&H. It's worth it to some shoppers who may not have internet to shop online.

I don't find that unfair or a ripoff.

QVC does not claim to have the lowest prices.

I agree...they never say they are lowest.

I admit I like to see the cookbook demos on Q - but I order all my cookbooks thru Amazon Prime. They are ALWAYS less money and no shipping.

The o/p is NOT being ""ripped off"" simply because QVC does not have the rock-bottom lowest prices ever to be found anywhere.

How stupid to think that they would.

Was Yuban, then changed to Plaid Pants due to forum upgrade, and apparently, I'm back to being Yuban.

May I recommend Shoebuy.com for shoes. Most are priced less than QVC and they ship for FREE!!

Sorry OP that you got blasted with your post. I on one hand can see how it looks like a rip off, but I always feel like if I watch the presentation and buy elsewhere I am ripping off QVC. We all do that sometimes though. Sometimes the QVC quality is not the best and I am ripped off, so it's a wash. A deal here, a loss there. I am going to check out the site though{#emotions_dlg.devil2}

It's often true. Many have said it for years. Find the opportunities offered by the Q that can't be found elsewhere, and only shop then, if at all. Last night they offered an unbeatable deal on Elemis that included easy pay. I didn't try it because it is still too high for my budget. It may represent products reaching an expiration soon. I don't know. But there are still some deals or opportunities to be had.
