I started watching QVC in the late 1980's or early 1990's.
Really didn't pay any attention for many years. I would check it out every once in awhile Until Jayne Brown was with the Rep for Clarks shoes Steve Mahoney. My first purchase was a pair of Clarks shoes, gosh it was sometime after 2006

It was new years' eve and I was taking the night shift with my dad, who had a long-term battle with Alzheimers. This was probably in the mid 1990s.
He was agitated and unhappy that night, though glad to be with me (I lived far away usually). We were hanging out companionably but both (I felt) a bit bored. We "toasted" the new year with with ginger ale (he didn't drink).
I was desperate to make him less unhappy and remote and started to channel surf....and discovered QVC.
At midnight, I found Dan Hughes and Pat James deMentri, dressed to the nines (Dan in a tux, Pat in a long gown), both looking splendid. My father liked this. He watched. He loved a nightclub in his younger days, even tho not a drinker.
He watched attentively. I bought a small piece of QVC jewelry; it was nice for the price and I got hooked.
It really lifted Dad. He didn't want to watch "coverage" of dropping the Time Square crystal ball (language skills aren't great in this disease), but pretty things and dressed up, pleasant looking people--that was something he loved to look at. I was hooked, too.

The early 90's.
Bought a Diamonique three heart pendant. Still have it. Used to love
watching that brand and all the other jewelry shows QVC used to air.

I think around 1988 or whenever my cable company started to air it. My sister told me about it.

So what's your story ?
@Goodie2shoes I discovered QVC when I was recovering from lung cancer surgery in 2004.

@Goodie2shoes My first time discovering QVC was shortly into the pandemic. I was still working, but my husband had to leave his job to go take care of his mother at last minute emergency just prior to the pandemic.
Then once he was there, the pandemic struck and he couldn't leave her as she is old and sickly. To protect her health, we stayed apart for several months. So like many, when not working I was house bound, and I was alone.
I was channel surfing and stopped on the Q and started watching to see what all the fuss was about. I used to scoff at theses shopping channels. Well I enjoyed the presentation and found it eased the loneliness, so I kept watching.
Soon I was buying and then I was hooked. It also gave me something to look forward to when my packages arrived. Well, I still enjoy watching sometimes and I know my sizing with the brands I like now so it's still fun.

I have watched here and there on all the shopping channels through the years

i drank coffee at work and used the keurig there and like it
it was LOUD - no bells or whistles - it still worked until i decided to chuck it
i used it for many many years - after all the fancy ones that came on the market
mainly on the weekend only
after that since i had an account - bought Bsre Minerals & Philosophy mainly
I have never bought clothing or food
