Re: So What Cha' Doing on a Tuesday Night?

@KingstonMom  Well, I'll be keeping an eye on Idalia all night and tomorrow!  My sister evacuated from Carrabelle and went to my neice's place in Tallahassee.  Doesn't look good for my sister's house according to the tracking maps.  She's right on US-98 along the coast.  I hope everyone stays safe from this hurricane and there's minimum damage!  🤞🏻🤞🏻

Re: So What Cha' Doing on a Tuesday Night?

Well, we're officially cut off from mainland Savannah, they've closed all of the bridges.

So, we'll just hunker down and hope we don't lose power.

We have a gas powered generator, so as long as the gas stations stay open, we're good.

A whole house generator is definitely on our 'wish list', but they're quite pricey!

Now, not only are you a great Mom, now you're a lifesaver too!

I have everything to make this and freeze, in case we lose power, except heavy cream and provolone.

DH went out for bottled water, so I called him to pick up those too!

Thank you for posting that recipe so quickly!Heart

You're very kind!

Re: So What Cha' Doing on a Tuesday Night?

They announced that Idalia is expected to hit our area as a CAT 1 hurricane.

We're having the outer bands now.

The kind people of the states of Mississippi and Alabama are already sending x-tra power Co. personnel to our area to help restore power from downed power lines.

Bless them!

Re: So What Cha' Doing on a Tuesday Night?

I purchased a really nice but small Accent Cabinet from Amazon and it arrived last week.  Last night I tackled putting on the two ends of the cabinet. I was confused about something for the longest time but I finally figured it out and got the two sides attached.  Since that took me a lot longer than I expected, I quit on it for the evening and will start in on it again tonight.

I feel sorry for you. This is the most disgusting summer I've been through. 2020 was bad too. Hang in there, rain and cooler temp are on they're way eventually.

@Meowingkitty    Thank you!....the tech finally made it around 5pm...and he tested the air  in the house at 99°.    He put in a new thermostat...and the house cooled down by 8pm.    I was a dripping wet wreck....looked like I plunged in the neighborhood pool with my clothes on.   I will never again complain that the winter is "a little chilly" !!!!    di
