Imtep, I placed the order on the same day but saw an item later in the day & decided to purchase. If both orders came in separate boxes, that would be on me but they were in one package and shipping was $3.50 per item. I don't think that is right, just my opinion. You can't always know there would be something later on in the day that you might want. Item might sell out!

@esmerelda your point is absolutely valid but few seem to agree (or understand). If two items fit in one package, charging two shipping fees is excessive.  One box was shipped, not two.

Has this recently changed? I often toss 2 or even 3 orders in the same bag or box for return. I have never been charged for the additional items for return.

Re: So Expensive

[ Edited ]

I did almost all of my shopping online for Christmas this year....I paid shipping on only one order...$4.99 because it was the only option for something I wanted to buy. You can find a way around shipping fees at some stores. Belk and Macy’s, for example, have free shipping on your entire order if you have a beauty item in the order...I usually just order a facial masque or bath bomb, around $4.00, instead of paying $8.95 for shipping. I save the low cost beauty item and add to one of the granddaughters gifts at Christmas or birthday. Many other stores have similar ways to avoid shipping costs. On Retailmenot you can search for “free shipping” and those promos will come up. Do some research and you can avoid the nonsense Q does by overcharging for shipping they aren’t even doing. Some sites also do free shipping for everything after you spend a certain amount at their store...it puts you into a rewards-type program where free shipping is one of the perks. QVC charges enough for their merchandise that they could certainly have free shipping..but it seems having the customer pay to return is a revenue source, so don’t look for them to ever go to free shipping permanently. On the rare occasion I do order something from QVC, I make darn sure I won’t need to return it before I place the order.

In the past, the mods have said two clothing items could ride back in the same package for one shipping fee.  I'm going to try that and see if it works.

I have done this for years with no problems.

Return shipping is based on package weight, not how many items are in the package.  Upthread the weights are listed.  Many on the thread may want to review the return policy.

What some are not seeing that the fee is for shipping and HANDLING.  A live person is involved, one that gets paid a salary and benefits.  This fee is not just covering the package and postage.  If QVC can save a little by sending it in one package, good for them (and the environment).  Customer has the same option for returns.

Someday, when scientists discover the center of the Universe....some people will be disappointed it is not them.
