@rockygems123 How nice it must be beautiful. I live in So Florida and there is a hurricane churning out in the caribbean again. Unreal, isn't it.

People who don't get snow like that always think it's oh so beautiful.  It's no beautiful if you have to drive in it, shovel, clean off the cars and get them out, walk the dogs, take public transportation.  And then you have to do it all over again when you get more snow a week later.  I'm in MA and I hate snow now.  A light sprinkling on Christmas is all I need.  Snow was a part of winter until a few years ago when weirdly we just stopped getting big snow.   We haven't had a snow blizzard in years.  We just get a couple of inches but not often.  I haven't had to wear snow boots in two years.  Sounds crazy but last winter hubby and son in law took the kids up to a park in NH to sled and play in the snow.  Just hour away.   I suppose we are do for some serious snow but I am dreading it.

@rockygems123.  Same here in the Albuquerque area.  I awoke to a winter wonderland with 5-6" on my block wall fence.  Very fine, dry flakes started yesterday afternoon and will continue through tomorrow.  Windy and bitterly cold.

So much for the predicted "warmer and drier than normal".

Meanwhile my sister in PA. Says she could sunbathe in her yard today.  Crazy.

Here in SE PA it was up to 80 yesterday!  Very unusual and we have had no rain for almost 2 months!

Things are starting to get brown and most of the trees have turned and lost their leaves.

Very pretty! But truth be told, I'd rather admire snow from afar than live with it.  I did that for 2 1/2 years and that was enough.

It was 80 degrees here in NOLA yesterday and I'd prefer temps to be about 15 to 20 degrees lower. But I'm ok with that if the alternative is ice and snow.

I've seen snow in my S central TX area only about five times in my life. After the last event, a real snowzilla, with days of power outages and the city coming to a halt, I hope to never see it again.

People lost lives. It's such a foreign occurrence here, that the authorities and citizens don't know how to be resourceful and safe. Plus, our power structure stinks. They've known this for a long time and have done little to rectify the problem, except argue about funds needed for improvements.

They claim service is better. Well, with most little thunderstorms, I lose power. Just happened two days ago. So, call me skeptical.

But, I sure love to see the photos of such gorgeous, snowy landscapes. It's why I love (even crummy) Christmas movies. The settings are downright dreamy.

We're getting a lot of snow here in Colorado Springs, too.  At least a FOOT so far, maybe more, which is quite a bit for us. More is coming today, tonight and tomorrow. Schools and many businesses are closed. Roads and highways are also closed. News people are saying:  "STAY HOME."

These numbers are from yesterday. More snow has fallen since then.

Here's a look at current snow totals and how much more we could see
