Amazing the response by certain posters on this thread. That's all that I will say.

Whether he saw combat action or not, he still could have PTSD from the Iraq experience and from his time in Haiti during earthquake recovery. Fearing for your life from incoming attacks, seeing horrible things that have happened to human beings can take its toll on some. Others push it away and try to go on. War does ugly things to everyone involved one way or the other.

Chad and Kyle believed he was troubled and understood his pain.

He stated to the police that he knew what he did was wrong...the defense was unable to prove their case.....he was convicted...guilty....case closed.

If you know someone is troubled and acting crazy, why take him out with a gun?

I don't understand that lack of common sense. If you want to help a troubled person, that's not how you help him.

They were ex- military guys and wanted a bonding experience. I do not think they realzied he had plans to kill them. As FOX just reported he wanted to kill them in the car but he thought he might get injured in the wreck.

He was mad that they were texting each other? Apparently he was showing signs of psychosis in the car. It's really a shame that they didn't take him home. I am not blaming them but what a waste of 3 lives.

I wish they would have listened to that gut feeling they must have been experiencing as well. They may have thought they were two experienced men...not realizing he would shoot them from behind if I heard correctly? Maybe they thought he was weird never dreaming he would kill them.

Weren't they telling each other to have each other's backs though? Obviously they thought he could do some harm. So sad. They knew he was acting crazy.
