Re: Smudging your home with sage...

Jules, I just wish you everything positive in 2013. I absolutely understand your intentions and I do believe that whatever is a comfort to you is a positive force. I had such an amazingly, surprisingly wonderful 2013 that I almost feel guilty about all of my blessings, and wary of not expressing enough gratitude for everything that went well in my life. I hope I can extend some of my joy your way-

Re: Smudging your home with sage...

Jules I didn't read past the first few posts on this thread because it was turning obnoxious (shocker) and that was just more bad energy Wink.

I did want to give you a chuckle and tell you how a few years ago my son's competitive baseball team that he was on was doing terrible all season. Part of it was the players attitudes and to help that along was the parents of those boys. They were as miserable and nasty as their sons were and it was just causing the whole team to fall apart. One of the moms suggested cleansing out teams dugout with sage. I was all for it because I believe in energy and would have done anything to try to help that pathetic team. We never did do it, mainly because some of the parents had so much negative to say about it (another shocker). We had intentions of doing it when the boys were not there so they would not have known about it. Whatever works!!!!!

Re: Smudging your home with sage...

Jules, sage can be very beneficial in cleansing your home and heart. And you are right in that it should be done by someone who knows what they are doing. We do this every year as a way to open our hearts and minds to a new year. You might also try planting some lavendar near your doors as a way to keep the negative from entering your home. Blessings to you in hope this does heal your heart and mind. I do not like to post on these boards anymore because there is so much negative energy. I have never understood why some people are so angry that they want to drag someone who is only trying to improve or change themselves down to their own angry level.

lilypadfrog: A very thoughtful post and that is why I removed my post from this thread earlier.

Jules: I'm glad you saw it but the negativity was certain to happen.{#emotions_dlg.sad}

lilypadfrog, thank you for your post (thanks to Cakers for quoting it since I have only read Cakers comment since my last post here). You are considerate, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. I agree, there is so much negative energy on this forum. So much that I sometimes just need to stop reading for a few days. People will belittle and bring down others over the most mundane topics. It seems the adage that misery loves company really is true with some people, since they are not happy unless they are insulting others or mocking their beliefs. Regardless, I have learned to tune it out because those people are always going to exist. My mother's favorite plant and scent was lavender so I always try to keep some in our home. Once spring arrives here I will plant some in our garden. I don't see how anything that opens your spirit up to goodness and positive energy can be a bad thing. Once again, thank you for taking the time to comment, I hope you will do so more often. Smile

Cakers, the only reason I came back to this thread to read was because of your post, so thanks for highlighting what lilypadfrog had to say. Again, I did get to see your comment before you removed it, and I appreciate all that you said. You are correct, negativity is always bound to happen. You would think a group of "adult" women might be able to have a conversation that stays on a topic without resorting to insults or snark but I guess that is too much to ask. I was insulted by the posts referencing voodoo or the occult and haunted houses, you would have thought I started a thread talking about sacrificing baby animals. Saging is not some new crazy concept, it's been a belief in existence for centuries and practiced in different ways by different cultures and religions. As some mentioned, the burning of incense in church, and there is a very precise ceremony for that. Anyway, if nothing else the conversation did enlighten me to ideas, so it was worth starting the discussion. I appreciate that you provided knowledgeable information that pertained to my OP. Thank you.
