It has been very smokey here in the Albuquerque area the past two days.  Yesterday especially, I could hardly see the mountains across the valley.  The meteorologist on TV said its caused by the fires in the Northern states.  Can you believe it?  Our current conditions are allowing the smoke in.

He said it looks as though it might next migrate to the Great Lakes area.

I can believe it - the jet stream carries quite a ways.  It's awful when these things happen.

Re: Smokey Conditions

[ Edited ]

It's been hazy all week here one state north of you. The news said it should be moving out tomorrow evening when a cool front comes through.

At least, it's not like it was here when we had large forest fires two and three years ago. It was very hard to breathe, but that's better than losing a life and/or home.

Yes, it's bad here in Denver, too, & my sinuses are suffering.  Have had a bad sinus headache for 2 days.  For some odd reason, it smells like burned coffee to me.  But enough of my complaints.  My heart goes out to the firefighters, especially those who have been injured or perished.

The Northwest, is on fire. It's particularly bad in Eastern Washington.  We lost 3 young firefighters, between the ages of 20-31, yesterday. Another young man, is battling for his life, at Harborview Medical Center, in Seattle.

The entire small town of Tonasket, is under mandatory evacuation tonight. The town of  Omak, may be next.  It's a sad, and very scary situation.

Its been a hot, very dry Summer and we're certainly paying for it!  There's no significant rainfall expected, now winds are kicking up, through tonight and tomorrow.

I'm in Spokane. Air quality has been terrible, but compared to what our neighbors are enduring, it's embarrassing to complain about. We also know that no one is safe from fire, with the conditions we're experiencing.

Prayers and Good Thoughts for everyone❤️

It's been bad here as well.  Wa, Mt, Id, and Ca are having significant fires.   I can't imagine how bad it is where the fires actually are.

@Suhse How awful, I'm sorry to hear.

I pray every day for rain for the entire west coastline.  I can barely watch these fire tragedies on the news anymore.  ANd now that within the last couple of days with firemen lives lost, all I can do is cry.  It's turned into hell on earth.

I was hoping that they were getting contained as it's better here today.  Unfortunately from the fire map it looks like it's worse.

Wow, I was just looking out my kitchen window and looked over toward the mountains and it was like - WHAT mountains??

You'd never know the Sierras were there because all you can see is a haze.  I guess people like me need to stay inside again today.

We still have the smoke here in Idaho. poor air quality all over the state, many fires here and surrounding states.  so the smoke haze is awful . My heart breaks for the firefighters trying to stop these fires, the ones that died, the one fighting for his life, so tragic.

We are just having winds now, no rain at all, no clouds. I am so glad we have a/c, but everone doesn't.

You can't see the Tetons, anything in the valley is all haze.
