Boy is the the truth. One of my cats tries and hides behind the headboard so she doesn't get kicked out and then she scratches at the door the whole time it's closed. The rest just wait patiently for the door to open again.

If this makes them happy, think it is a great idea.

@Tinkrbl44 ROLF!!!!!! Oh my goodness, I was wondering when someone was going to mention that. >>Well, that was clever .... but I still think that when Mommy and Daddy want to have secks, the kids should be outside, with the bedroom door closed. LOL <<

That's a lot of dogs in a bed regardless of how big the bed is. LOL

Wow, my kind of people :-)

I love my cat, and he sleeps on our bed but I don't know if I could have 8 cats on the bed. They did the right thing by expanding their area to make themselves and the pets happy. GOD BLESS THEM.

Unless you can afford therapy for all of 'em. ;-)

Our six cats won't allow The Beast (our beagle) in our bed. She has her own bed on the floor in the bedroom. When she first came to live with us, she tried to get in the bed and the cats slapped her down quickly. She never tried it again. She has a big Kong bed and she seems content to sleep there.
Meanwhile, the cats not only sleep in our bed, they also burrow down under the covers. And they graciously allow us to sleep there, too.

They look like very nice people; the dogs are so content and sweet looking, too.
I have two cats, much smaller physically but tiny competitive titans who love each other but contend. It's like sharing space with The Bickersons.
If I had a bed half a mile wide they would be fighting for the same space near my head/shoulder. I am often awakened by the sounds of open war.
My cats are virtually never violent with each other, and often sit companionably together, but the bed is a mystic space for them, and they yowl about it. (They are both part Siamese.) I just would llike some sleep, but always keep a detective novel nearby so I can read til they settle down.
I don't know what I would do without them both. But it would be good if they would work out this one issue, though I think it looms large for all companion animals.

Or at least hang a sock on the door! ( oh, wait, my two would just grab it and play tug!)
I read somewhere that you can tell you really love your animals when they are asleep on top of you and you are in pain and need to turn over but won't because you don't want to disturb the animals! How true!
