QVC is doing routine maintance today to their website. It's a mess if you are trying to place an order that way.

You would think they would do this between the hours of 1 am and 4 am, like post businesses do (or whatever their research shows as being non-peak hours).

Calling CS is a nightmare too; probably because people have to call in their orders and are complaining.

NOTE:  tried this on FireFox 19, Chrome 48, and IE 9

1.  Can't pull up my Order Status or "Items Recently on Air"; get the following message:

"We're sorry, the system could not process your request as the service is unavailable. Please try again later, or contact Customer Service at 1-888-345-5788 for more information."

2.  Was able to pull up my Wish List and add items to my Shopping Cart.  When I went to checkout, rec'd following error:

"Please Note: We're doing some routine maintenance to our online ordering system and are unable to calculate exact S&H costs on your order. Feel free to continue checking out, placing your order request without interruption. Not to worry; final costs will be reflected on both your bill and in Order Status as soon as possible."

Then it only gave me payment options for the 1st item in my cart, so I decided to submit each item separately.  Ok for 1st item, but on subsequent items, it didn't give me payment options (e.g., 4 EZ flash sale or 3EZ on QCard) so I exited out.

3.  Once I submitted order, rec'd following message:

"We're doing some routine maintenance to our online ordering system, but your order information has been received and we'll begin processing it as soon as possible. In the meantime, thanks for your patience, and for shopping with QVC.

If for any reason your order can't be processed, our Customer Service Department will contact you to assist you with re-entering your order.

Once your order has been processed, you'll automatically receive an email confirmation if you've set up your account to get email alerts. If not, please visit http://support.qvc.com to check your order status. Please also feel free to check the Order Status page periodically."

You'd think this wouldn't happen when they're running a flash 4 EZPay sale!?!

Well, now that's a mess, isn't it @Lynnster67!?!   @meem120 may be onto something brewing with the website.

Regarding your last comment...  many of us have noted that it seems they have major technical problems on the site coinciding with big sales.   It makes me wonder when -- or if -- QVC is going to get serious about having a more professional tech staff.  For years I've been saying they seem to be in the dark ages with their archaic website technology.Smiley

I'm not sure about those version numbers you cited -- the most recent Firefox version is 44.0.2, Chrome is 48.0.2564.109.

Yep same problems here with both Safari and Firefox.

Think David just casually made mention that people could still place orders via CS, and on the Ipads, etc.

Boy, I bet they are feverishly working on this, what a terrible time for this to occur.

The issue, it would appear, is QVC does not or has not invested the money into their IT division.

Decades ago,  when I worked in the IT industry, the ONE thing that always made me shake my head was the fact that companies didn't want to pay to upgrade/update/maintain their IT divisions. Now, this was when IT was just starting out but the scary thing was I worked for companies in the security industry (if you follow my drift). You would THINK it was a concern but the attitude was "we'll wait and take our chances. Why put money into something and nothing happens?" Eventually it changed within that industry and yet, security breaches still occur and for inane reasons.

Sadly, that attitude is still alive and well among many companies, mainly retail. The funny thing is, as long as customers continue to purchase even when the system goes belly-up or there is a security breach or they don't have any on-line system in place with their own stores.....the company has no incentive to change.

Which brings me right back to  QVC; why put money into something when people still buy despite the frustration?

I'm not doubting that others are having significant problems, but I've tried looking at items recently on-air, and my wish list, and my previous orders, etc., and so far no problems.   I'm sorry others are experiencing a technical imbroglio, though.

It really makes no good business sense, @SahmIam.  My experience in IT has taught me that having a solid, smoothly-running system up-front is far less expensive (time, money, customer satisfaction, etc.) than trying to manage complaints and clean up after the fact.

It's been intermittent for me the past 3-4 days.  A couple of days ago it was non-functional for viewing or shopping most of the day. Fine most of yesterday. Just now it took 2 minutes for anything to come up once clicked on. And I have fast internet and no issues on other sites.
