I work for a company who has a female CEO and they hire more men than women to be supervisors and pay them more. I am assistant director and have had 7 yes 7 male directors in 3 in half years. They make $35000 more a year than myself and can never do the job! I have never been able to figure out my companies theory that male supervisors would be better.....the only thing I can think of is that women tend to call out more and are petty annoying employees. Lol Sorry but it's true, women can be the worst at work, always back stabbing and talking about each other. I rarely see men do this in the work place.
I am sure there will be people who disagree with me but this is the way it has been for me at my last three jobs.
This seems to be very widespread. There is a report out currently about a well known foundation where men are paid more than women - despite the public advocacy of one of the founders for equality in pay for women.

What does this have to do with equal pay day?
I worked in a field dominated by women at all levels so I have nothing to base the concept of equal pay on.Nursing does pay equally for both genders.

@Cats3000 wrote:They make more than you do because they are "Directors" and you're an "Assistant Director". If you don't like that, vote with your feet and find a job where you're a "Director". Then, you'll probably make as much as other "Directors".

The studies are based on those doing the same or similar job.
Not, as you say, those at different levels.

It has to everything to do with equal pay day-- if more and more senior staff are male, they get higher salaries.

That's true, also.

Spent my whole working career "covering for the boss" and doing his job while he was on the golf course, or out with a mistress...........at a quarter the pay. I am glad "times are a'changing"!

Perhaps men deserve more because they can be depended upon to be there not off on maternity leave, on the phone with their children, unwilling to stay late. The best manager I've ever had was a woman but she was the exception that proved the rule.
