Simpler thread got me thinking about what TV shows I watched growing up, what did you watch??

Being a baby in the early 70's, I don't recall shows, but being a toddler and a small child growing up in the 70's oh how I do remember that!

Oh geeze I don't even know if I was born when the Brady Bunch first aired (Maybe an infant) but how I loved the The Brady Bunch when I was around 4 or 5! The same for Bewitched, I think I was maybe around one when the show was cancelled but boy how I LOVED that show in reruns, I still do today; I actually record them for Gianna Marie!!!! Hard to believe I was years away from being born when they first aired Bewitched! I think it aired around 1964, I'll check but nevertheless Time Flys!

Anyway shows I enjoyed as a toddler/small child in reruns were Brady Bunch, Bewitched, I Love Lucy, The Bugs Bunny Show, Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, The Jetsons, The Flinstones, Scooby-Doo, Yogi Bear Etc, H.R Pufnstuff, Puff The Magic Dragon, The Magic Garden (LOVED that show!) Lassie, The Carol Burnett Show, sitting on my daddy's lap watching shows like Little House on the Prairie, Happy Days, Emergency and The Waltons. Also watched with my father Monday Night Football for as long as I can remember still watch it to this very day but I do not like the new format, announcers or channel!

Mr Rogers, Sesame Street. I remember Laverne and Shirley. Batman and Robin, again loved it! Chico and The Man was on, That Girl, Get Smart, Gilligan's Island. My brother Johnny LOVED Green Acres which I hated it! I Dream of Jeanie, Good Times, Sanford and Son again my brother Johnny liked it, I didn't care much for it, (We had to share the living room TV!!), Romper Room with the magic mirror, always waited for her to call my name!!

Some kids game show on Sunday mornings before church, Gumby, some other clay show on Sundays, Disney on Sunday nights! Again Johnny liked Petticoat Junction, I liked the theme song and always thought Meredith Macrae was pretty as a kid. Partridge Family, Lost in Space. The Beverly Hillbillies. Again Johnny watched shows like My Three Sons, Leave it to Beaver and Hogan's Heroes, therefore so did I. The Six Million Dollar Man I loved, always found Lee Majors very good-looking even on Big Valley, speaking of handsome men, I always found Michael Landon good-looking, loved him on Bonanza, maybe he's why I liked men with longer hair during my teenage years in the 80's besides all the male rock groups of the 80's!

American Bandstand when I was a little older and in to music, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Alice, Hee-Haw on Saturday mornings along with Schoolhouse Rock Conjunction Junction What's Your Function, loved it!! Chips, Different Strokes, Facts of Life, The Honeymooners.

As a little, little girl I remember watching shows with my mother such as The Newlywed Game, Match Game, Saturday nights Charlie Chan which I hated and found SO boring!!!! Columbo which I found BORING too! Hart to hart, Charlie's Angels on Wednesday nights which I was allowed to stay up past my bed time to watch it, Starsky and Hutch, Mission Impossible, Ironside, Bonanza, Big Valley, Price Is Right (Love Bob Barker!!) Etc. Loved watching old country singers, especially Loretta & Conway!

Sure there's lots more I missed!

TV back then was clean, simple, lighthearted and had meaning!

Gotta run.

Ciao,

Jerz
