Considering that they both have on such loud, crazy pajamas I'm thinking it's some event where you're supposed to wear them.

Maybe it was Halloween and they were dressing up as cartoon characters.

@Burnsite - Well, I've heard of the early morning sales in PJs in Maine, but never a town that hosted nude bowling. Any idea where this rumored town is? Unless it's a closed event, I would think obscenity laws would be invoked.
It could just be a Downeast myth - unless, of course, you've attended yourself!

@Kachina624 - Absolutely not ever going to see me going anywhere looking like the 2020s photo.
If I'm going out in public, I'll be dressed. Minimum nice jeans and a shirt or sweater. No PJs, no leggings. Ever.
And I think the women in the 1960s photo look amazing.

These days"pajamas" are also leggings, sweats, pretty lounge pants, etc. They are not just flannel with silly prints.
I never thought of jeans as being any better than a lot of these type of bottoms.
More power to the ones that think they are dressing up in jeans but they are not any more attractive than some nice model comfortable bottoms, perfectly appropriate. And if some want to bash them as pjs go right ahead.
I'd rather see and or wear something cheerful and comfortable any day over jeans, especially ones that look like they haven't been washed in decades!
I get compliments by strangers everytime I wear my "pajamas" who say "I love your pants!" or those are so cheery!"
It can all be from different perspectives. And to me jeans are not the nicest to wear if you must wear something. That's what I think.
I just see it all as a claim to bash others while putting yourself above when all the while not everyone thinks you are above those that don't wear what you do.

I saw somebody at the store the other day. Not only in their pajamas but robe and slippers too.
