Hi, @Lindsays Grandma!   I didn't see the thread you reference.   I'm sorry you had a bad experience.   Moderating forums isn't an easy task, it's time-consuming and complicated, especially on a forum representing a business...   think how many posts there are in all the threads in all the sub-forums.   Also,  we've learned over time that the QVC Social Team has many other responsibilities, too, moderating the QVC Facebook pages, offering customer support by answering questions and researching problems, passing along website tech glitches to the IT department, and probably more that we don't know about.   And it seems they don't have many moderators to cover this 24/7 job.    My experience is that asking them questions works better via email, in private, than with new threads.   This is the address they post for us to use:

QVCSocialTeam@qvc.com

All deleted threads and posts are archived in an area of the website only the Moderators can access.    In the past, I've seen them reconsider a decision and restore posts or threads removed in error, so it's always possible.   Hope that helps in the future.image.gif

I  politely contacted them about the deleted thread, never heard back from them.

I have contacted the Mods on occasion, and I never received a personal response back either.

Doesn't bother me that I didn't.

I'm not complaining, just making a statement to another person's post.

Honestly, I think these endless complaint threads don't bode well for the future of the QVC forums and it's possible by continuing to second-guess and insult the moderators and the PTB who give them their marching orders...  we might see the forums follow the trend on other sites:

forums are being closed, completely, and the companies that managed them are sending their posters to other social media sites like Facebook.

Certainly we have the option to complain and to air our grievances here, but I haven't seen any changes as a result of them and I do think instead of this imperfect Q Community we might end up with no Q Community to post on in the future.

@dooBdoo, let’s see if you’re accused of trying to have the QVC forums shut down simply because of what you underlined above. When I posted about the Amazon forums being closed down and that the same thing could possibly happen here because of the reasons you state in your post above, I was snidely/obliquely accused of trying to get the QVC forums shut down - and I didn’t say anything different than what you’ve just said.

A post of mine was removed yesterday for being "argumentative", and I just laughed and laughed.  All I did was disagree with a poster about an interpretation about something in the news (and no, it wasn't political).

And then I see people disagree here all the time, back and forth, up and down, on an on, ad nauseum, and the posts remain.

So I figured the poster I disagreed with reported my post and that's why it got the axe.

Doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things, of course, but just shows that you can't really expect "even"or "fair" moderation on this board.  It's just a ****** shoot.

@QueenDanceALot  LOL  I had a post removed for the same reason-it was in response to something posted to me.  Yet that post remained, others chimed in against what was said to me, and those posts remained.  Back and forth it went for several more posts.

You can't make this stuff up.

It left me kind of scratching my head.  In fact, I've been scratching my head so much lately at what goes on that I think I 'm getting a bald spot.  LOL

@Cakers3 I understand what you mean about head scratching, I just lost time out of my life from reading the last two pages of the now closed LR FB driving thread. Woman Surprised

@dooBdoo  I agree wtih you.   Unfortunately some folks, like me, do not use FB or other types of social media.  This site and one other are the only two I use, and the other one I mostly just read since FB connections are used a lot by some members.

I still am in contact with many posters past and present here, so if the place closes I can stay in touch but honestly there are some posters I would truly miss and wonder about.  (You are one.Heart)

As much as I miss being able to discuss certain topics, I have also seen a lessening of old stuff and a renewal of friendships I thought were long gone.

It's perspective; and I know some dislike that word.  However, how we view what we expect to receive here and what is reality can raise stress levels and it just isn't worth it.

When I sign off I'm often left with more positive feelings than negative and that's because my expectations are kept to a minimum.

Re: Shuting down threads

[ Edited ]

I'm still trying to determine why it's ok for some to question other's intelligence when they don't agree with the content within a post, that shouldn't be allowed to continue but it does............

Like it or not, that's a violation of standards. They're pretty clear - "Do not re-post deleted messages". Edited or not, it's a no-no.

I was just about to say the same thing.  Reposting is a clear violation of standards.  I don't have a problem if that's enforced because it's something we all agreed to when we started posting here.

My issue is with posts and threads that are arbitrarily deleted while others that seem to be pretty problematic are allowed to remain.  There's nothing we can do about it.  These are QVC's forums, and they can do what they want, but I find it frustrating and annoying at times.  However, something that violates standards should be deleted, and reposting does violate standards.  That's pretty clear-cut.
