Not just Episcopal. My church, Methodist, always has a pancake supper on the Tuesday before Lent.

I'm English and today is Shrove Tuesday. Also known as pancake day. Our pancakes are more like crepes (not American style pancakes) and we put lemon and sugar on them. I'm looking forward to supper later!

Those are my favorite. The crepes are like Swedish pancakes. With powdered sugar and fresh squeezed lemon.

This is how I like them too. I used to know an English couple who ran a tearoom (where I sometimes helped out) and this was a regular on their breakfast menu.

Unfortunately everybody's response depends on who the OP is and not the fun idea of the thread.

I didn't even really know the meaning of Mardi Gras and all until recently. I am Methodist.

I can't get over how adults here take jabs at people and then pretend ""who me.."" come on ladies..she is right in the aspect that it seems to be the same group who flock to her threads and start. If you dislike somebody that much that you lower yourself to a level you wouldn't be proud of if it was your children/grandchildren . then maybe it is time to put the poster on Ignore.

I have seen it time and time again on this board.

I don't always agree with the delivery of the OP at times and have no issue if she is called out on it..but when a nice thread is purposely ruined to start the digs and jabs it is time to grow up!

We don't observe Lent but I think this is a lovely tradition. I also feel like I am back in jr high when I read some of the snarky comments......go over to FB and post so you have to show your name....

We do pancakes as well and had a variety of toppings. My favorite is apple, my husband likes bananas but the kids love Nutella.
