Good morning all.
I was diagnosed with a Gleniod Labrum tear behind my left shoulder. My surgery date is Good Friday, March 29. I have been in physical therapy 3 times a week for the past month to stregthen my arm for recovery.
I have partial paraysis of my right hand (only have use of my thumb and index finger). I am not too proud to admit that I am anxious about the recovery time with my right hand limitations. I have heard that the actual surgery is not the problem, it's that the recovery for this type os surgery is going to be a challenge.
Has anyone had this surgery?... and are you willing to give me some pointers on what to expect?. I have been looking for pants with elastic waistlines and stocking up on baby wipes (for personal cleanliness). I will be rel-earning the most basic of life skills all over again with my right hand.I'm trying very hard to stay positive, but today isn't a good day.
I hope someone can give me some words of wisdom and great suggestions to make my next few months in recovery as smooth as it can be. THANKS
