Re: Should we be concerned about using our Keurigs?

I like real science and definitely don't get info from alternative health sites because in my experience they are the masters of being alarmists. Greenmedinfo.com would not be a place I would be open to take health advice from. That isn't because I don't try to live as naturally as I can but more because correlation doesn't imply causation and I notice many of these sites do try to imply that. Death is a risk of life. I try to keep my risks manageable but I am not going to the extreme.

Well said.

I mean no offense, but "greenmedinfo.com" is in the same category as "naturalnews," "mercola," and the like. Highly dangerous, misleading charlatans. They're terribly unreliable, they promote pseudoscience and scare tactics. Their interest lies in linking to products, treatments and services for sale, as well as paid keyclicks and data-mining on their sites. Please, please, please don't trust those websites. Research these issues on reliable, reputable sites if you have concerns.

(Disclaimer: I don't use Keurig products because I prefer brewing coffee "the old-fashioned way" and also I don't want to be tied into buying the cups.Smile)

Dr Oz periodically has Dr Mercola on his program. Are you lumping Dr Oz in the same category?

Hi, found!Smile

I don't watch Dr. Oz often. I liked him when he was on Oprah's show, and I saw many of his own shows when he first began. Then, my interest waned and I became more and more skeptical. I do know he's had less-than-reputable (in my opinion) people on his show in order to shed light on a hotly-debated, publicized view so he and other experts can offer a different opinion to try and better educate the public. Case in point: Representatives of "Exodus International" were on his show, but their highly controversial views were also debunked on the same program.

I'll add that I'm not a fan of Dr. Oz in regards to his show, and I do know well-respected medical professionals who are disenchanted with him at this point but who still feel he's a top-notch cardiac surgeon. The "Dr. Oz issue" is a complicated one, in my opinion.

I didn't see that show but just googled it. Apparently he had them on for the express purpose of a debate.
