Are you carzy?

No. Murder is murder and it should never be allowed that the suspects ever go scot free.
The brothers were not children and old enoug to know the action was wrong. I would not want them releaed.

Authority figures wield enormous power over vulnerable young boys. WHY is this so hard for some to understand?

As with "vulnerable young" girls/women.

This is ME. My son was born in NY in the 80's. A lot of things were going on there then and I was willing to spend the rest of my life in prison if anyone messed with my son. I knew he would be taken care of by his dad and the rest of the family. I carried him for nine months along with morning sickness and protected him and no one would get away with hurting him. Even though he's grown now, I still feel the same.
At 4 years old we moved to Maplewood New Jersey and somehow I felt more comfortable but I knew that anything could happen any place and I was still willing to do what ever was possible.
I believe the mother knew what was happening and some of the family members and no one die anything and this could have been avoided.
I believe if they were girls, it would have been a different story.

NO, only a monster would shoot their mother in the head ... and not stop until she's "gone."

To me murder is murder. So it's okay if you have a good reason? Many would use that excuse. They both have that privileged look. If the parents were wealthy where is that money now? Waiting for them? Why did they kill the mother? They should stay in jail.

NO. They should NEVER be released. They deserved the death penatly.for the heinous act they committed.

The "smugness" of two young men who had completely ABNORMAL lives .... 35 years ago .... is noted.
What cracks me up is how many people go to their church for confession, even for really terrible sins .... and confess their sins to the priest. It can be serious or illegal, no matter.
The priest then says something serious, that they should say three Hail Mary's ..... and ... Voila!!! .... they are completely forgiven. No jail time necessary.

At the time of this original trial, sexual abuse victims just weren't believed or their trauma taken into consideration. It was a different era.
I've lived in SoCal and watched the whole thing rather closely. You couldn't avoid it.
I think all the new evidence, and old evidence needs to be carefully scrutinized, re-evaluated ... and go from there. IMO, they probably should be released.
JMO, of course.
Shoekitty said, @Tinkrbl44 then all cases need to be reviewed. There are plenty of people in jail with similar, or worse abuse. You are right, we didn't treat child abuse or sexual abuse like they do today. But murder is murder. Unless the parents attacked them and they fought back..but they planned and executed and collaborated their murder together. There are some pretty concinvincing reasons for release of many prisoners. I have no qualms at all about reviewing. They all should have a chance at review. Like the Manson murders, that had its side too, a couple of the girls were always loaded and under mansons power when they murdered. I think after all those years in jail and their posative change they woukd have been no threat to society. But, where do they draw the line? With murder, there are no do overs. . I think prisoners who can proven innocence, proven by new DNA or new evidence should always have a chance. But as I said, time changes the horror of the crime, we all have been desensitized a bit in the last 20 years. What was once a 10 on horror scale is now a 6. JMHO nothing less and I welcome a review with an open mind.

I would like bring up the fact to some, they weren't exactly boys when they committed these crimes. They were 21 and 18. Adults, although young adults. It was not like they were 14 or 16. They were also well educated and pretty sophisticated in worldly ways. I can see why they didn't leave their parents. They were bound to their parents emotionally, tragically and financially. Indeed, family should have....or did know what was going on, no one helped them. And true, it's not like the two young adults felt they could to police and report abuse. Like, who would believe them? . The parents would shut poloce down quick .not to mention they were ashamed, and bound to,a secret hell. The days of phone videos, taping weren't as easy and available like today. I think they also thought of the loss of income. Their minds enraged ,they plotted together a plan, carried it out hoping to be heirs ...and in full control of their lives and the money they were caught and exposed. This was murder. Let's see if new evidence reals anything. They have had years to mature more and think of new reasons.
