Should sweets be allowed for birthday parties at school?

I was in a classroom today and looking at the birthday chart they have. In January, there are six kids in the class having a birthday. Most kids bring cupcakes or cookies with a lot of icing on them (the ones they have at Wal-Mart). I was thinking, "Man, that's gonna be a lot of cupcakes in one month!"

So, my question....because of the whole "no bake sales in school" thing, how do you feel about eliminating sweets for birthdays?
