I would just thank her next time I saw her or send a quick email.

Your call was enough. A note would be a little much! I'm big into etiquette and believe in doing the right thing. If the restaurant card was quite generous and you enjoy the person's company, you might ask her to join you while you are enjoying her gift.

I agree.  I never send thank you notes.  I say "Thank you" and give them a hug or I call them to say thank you.  Just because it's not written down doesn't mean it's not genuine.

I think for a TREMENDOUS favor you should at least send a thank you text.
