Honestly, I would be afraid of an infection.

I say go for it!  I have several and I didn't think they hurt - just slight pinches and if you follow instructions will not get infections.  The health risks are practically nonexistant.  I don't think you would be going to an artist who is not licensed and following all the guidelines.  In this day and age tattoo artists use disposable needles and new ink pallets for each customer.   Everything is prepackaged.

My only concerns would be the health factors – reactions to the ink, infections, etc.  Based on my history, I’m sure my body would react to the ink which would create problems with my immune system and/or infections.

I say go for it!!!!!

It's YOUR body, decorate it however you see fit!

Do NOT let ANYONE try and talk you out of it!

YOUR CHOICE, YOUR DECISION!!!!!

Just remember, tattoos are permanent.

@Shorty2U

As the proud owner of 10 tattoos that you would never see unless I want you to, I say wait for that other 5%. Be 100% sure!

As for pain, to me it's more of a burning sensation, since the needle is piercing the skin at a rapid fire pace, but none were unbearably painful.

Most artists will tell you that if you need a 'break' while they're doing them, just let them know.

I love my DD's signature tattoo (first name) the most! It's not just her name, but her actual signature.Heart

That said, I'm glad that I didn't give her a really long first name, like Antoinette, LOL!

I guess it depends on how much of a weight gain/loss.

I lost 25 lbs. for unexplained reasons about 2 years ago and it didn't make any difference in the look of any of mine.

But that's just my experience. The elasticity of everyone's skin is different.

@Bird mama  had a big tattoo thread -  before, during and after her tattoo, with pictures!  Very interesting.  Me, never.

If you're of legal age, you get to decide.
