Why not get a temporary tat and see how you feel about it? Just remember if you do get one it is permanent and if you don't like it or tire of it, it isn't exactly easy to remove....although you usually can with a little time and expense.

Good luck and don't let anyone's opinion but your own really be the decision maker.

There are some really pretty infinity tattoos.   Look them up and decide.

I recently got my first and last tattoo.  I never thought I would get one, but it was in honor of my sister with whom I spent the last 2 months of her life.  So for me it was very personal.  Her best friend and DIL both got the exact same one.   We got them before she was too sick to see them.  She was very happy, she had lot's of tattoos.

The ribbon is obvious, she collected butterfly stuff, and blue was her favorite color.

If you really want a tattoo, then get it.  There are many suggestions here on what to consider before doing it.  I have one friend who has two small ones at her ankles and she likes them.  I have another who has spent a fortune trying to get rid of hers.

Personally, I would rather see designs that I like framed and hung on my walls.  If I get tired of them, I can just take them down.

I'm not a fan of tattoos. I know quite a few people who have them.I just don't think they're attractive.Just my opinion.

They shouldn't call them tattoos they should call them "permanent" ! I get tired of wearing the same rings and jewelry day after day I can't imagine have something on me FOREVER! Just my opinion (and I know I'll take flack for it on these boards) because tattoos are very "in"! The other point (and in IMHO) the big point when I was twenty i was a size 6 now not so much (plus wrinkles). Can you tell I do not have any tattoos

This is something I have never really wanted to do even when I was much younger.  I just could not imagine wanting something on my body till the end of time especially when I enjoyed changing my hair up every once in a while, color, length ect.........  So I knew at some point it would be a regret for myself.

But if you are unsure wait about three months and then see how you feel about it.

This is one of my three tattoos.

It took eight hours to do.

I love it, and have received many complements on it.

I think it is a personal decision, but I will never get one.

I don't feel the need to mark up my body to remember or connect myself to anyone or anything.

We have a neighbor boy (well, young man now) who is completely tattooed. He has some really beautiful 'pictures' of his deceased grandfathers on his legs. The work is simply beautiful. His sister is even more covered, but I don't find hers as beautiful or meaningful.

I think a lot of people are doing this as a way to make a statement. If that is what they think they need to do, then I guess they should. Many people later regret their choice of either getting tattoos at all or at least what and where they were placed.

In some threads about keeping things that belong to one's parents or grandparents, people will say things like "I don't need a .....to have my memories and remembrances of those people I love and have passed". I guess that is how I feel about the tattoos 'memorializing' or recognizing relationships. I just don't need that on my body to remember or cherish.

I'd just caution people to not get caught up in what is happening on a tv show, or what everyone else is doing. This isn't like a fashion statement, or a new wild hair color, it can be much longer lasting if you decide it just isn't for you.

Seems you're @ 95% sure--you're gonna do it.  It will be a conversation piece for you to others as it is for you here with posters.

I'm 100% sure I'd never do it as I can't imagine a tattoo being any part of a special bond either between my dad and I or my grandchildren and I.

So I say --Go for it!
